Lux Awards 2013
At an awards ceremony in November at the Park Plaza in London, the IMI Pod ™ was presented with the award for best education and healthcare project of 2013. The Judges found the lighting design focused on the needs of the patient and was a significant step forward in healthcare lighting.

First IMI patient Environment installed at Barts Newham
On Monday 26th November IMI were given an empty single bed ward. Excluding the frequent conversations with parties interested to know what was going on the pod unit was installed over a 4 hour period. On Tuesday the gas connections were made and the ceiling reinstated with the space essentially ready for a patient on Wednesday morning. A lot has been learnt through this exercise and following installations will benefit from small refinements to the product. The space is live and therefore we are not able to take visitors to the site however for more information and photographs then please call Andrew Bissell on 0845 017 9090.
IMI speak at Joint BIS, European Commision event at the Royal Society in London
Andrew Bissell spoke about the forward commitment procurement process and the IMI patient enviornment at the recent
BIS / EC event. Following the event delegates were given a tour of the new IMI installation at Barts Newham.
New Manchester Showroom Launched
Over the last few months IMI have been building a dedicated showroom to allow heathcare professionals and contractors an opportunity to
see and test the IMI patient environment products. There are 3 patient spaces, 2 HTM compliant 3600mm wide units and 1 3000mm wide unit

IMI speak at AHCP 2012
Mike Yates spoke at this years Association of Healthcare Cleaning Professionals conference. Speaking about the IMI patient environment
and the importance of both making use of the research which exists and taking on board the knowledge of the end users when designing
new products for the healthcare market.

Over the last few months IMI have been invited to speak at a number of healthcare and lighting events around Europe. The
IMI patient environment was presented at the LCB:Healthcare conference in Poland, at the EuHPN Conference in Bologna (Italy)
and at Lux Live at Earls Court in London.

BRE INSITE11 Event
The IMI Patient Environment has been installed at the BRE ahead of the INSITE11 'Rethinking Refurbishment' Exhibition. As expected the pod was quick and easy to install, connect and commision. At the INSITE11 event Andrew Bissell will be speaking about the process which led to the development of the product. The process is a new procurement method called Forward Commitment Procurement and is supported by BIS, DH and LCB:Healthcare.

Working with Wilmott Dixon, the IMI patient environment will be installed at the INSITE 11, Rethink Refurbishment exhibition at the BRE Campus in Watford. IMI designers will be in hand to answer any questions related to
the concept, detail and integration of the various systems. We can also talk you through the process we have been through with
Rotherham NHSFT and LCB:Healthcare which is the Forward Commitment Procurement process.

A big thank you to our visitors from Erasmus MC Hospital in the Netherlands and the Department for Business Innovation and Skills in the UK. This was the second review of the patient environment mock up at Rotherham NHSFT.

The Rotherham NHSFT Project is a Lead Market Initiative which is a key strategy for harnessing innovation and
using the public sector buying power to achieve this. The IMI solution highlights how well the process works and as a result IMI were
invited to speak at the European Conference on the future funding for Research and Innovation, 'Towards a Common Strategic Framework'.

As part of the approval process for the IMI Patient Environment Product, a demonstration day was held with attendees from
the Department of Health, Krawisc Hospital in Poland and Nottingham University Hospital. A second demonstration day will take place on the
22nd June with delegates from the Department of Business Innovation and Skills and Erasmus Hospital, Netherlands.
